Carmen is a wonderful teacher. She is thoughtful, kind and really lovely to be around, both in person and online. Carmen answers all questions and queries quickly and gives great advice and suggestions on how to improve and to practice what she is teaching. The online BSL course was really interesting and I am shocked at how much I learnt in such a short space of time. Thank you for such an enjoyable 4 weeks which has started me on my BSL journey.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course. It was a new experience and it was great to be involved in a small, local group. The resources were very helpful and the extra help Carmen gave me privately outside of the session times. Being partially sighted, I found the in-person session more effective as I could see everyone better, group and partner activities were easier to do and were more convenient. It was also helpful to receive the printouts whilst in the sessions
I really enjoyed learning sign language with Carmen. She was a friendly, fun tutor and always encouraging. We learned a lot in 4 weeks, much more than I anticipated. The course content was good, all useful words and phrases and it was delivered well. I felt I could communicate pretty well by the end of the course!
In only a few lessons I learned the alphabet, directions, describing my family, numbers, dates and much more. Carmen was fantastic, very friendly and helpful and was a joy to be learning from! I looked forward to every lesson and learned a lot of very useful information I won’t be soon to forget!
